Book: The Three Wise Monkeys
Authored by Jeet Gian
This book is provided by Arudha Club in exchange for a genuine review.Blurb:
The trio - Amar, Akbar, and Anthony - had no clue whatsoever about their goddammit indecisive- careers-and-indefinite-struggles.
And that was because they were born with the Peter Pan syndrome and were simple enough to be tricked by anyone , including their mystifying girlfriends- Meghna, Farah, and Sarah.
And as in the fate of all morons , they were drawn into trouble- deep trouble- of hiding crores of black money in secret offshore companies.
Will their mistake of turning a blind eye to the philosophy of 'See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil' cost them their careers and to put them in prison?
Or
Will lady luck change their fortunes forever?
Author:
Jeet Gian was a happening person till he became a chartered accountant (and got married). He was born and brought up in Kutch (Motto: Nobody knows where it is) before permanently and successfully settling (after marriage) in Dubai. His present dream is to become the President of India and continue his writing passion full time without tensions and work at Rashtrapati Bhavan (Motto: We deliver best ISO-certified awards), New Delhi!
He is a great communicator and is on good terms with clients, media, and almost everyone around him, except his in-laws. He has been interviewed by Dubai TV, Zee TV-Gulf Pulse, CNN Arabia, Radio 103.8, and on many occasions by his mother-in-law! Divya, his life and business partner (only in profit), is also a chartered accountant. Both are blessed with two kids: a daughter, Falguni, and a special-needs son, Krishna. For Divya, children come first; the rest of the world is just Tom, Dick, and Jeet.
He is up by 5 am, even if holidaying on Star Cruise, and is a fitness buff. Plus, he eats once every two hours, just like how babies do. Jeet is a published author, and his debut effort is named The 3 U-Turns of My Life, which is well-received by nurseries across PAN India and it is highly recommended by doctors for patients suffering from insomnia!
Verdict:
Cover
consists of three fancy monkeys sitting on a cluster of bills of currency. It
gives an idea of novel being funny and revolving about these three idols being
portrayed on the cover. This is the thought
that comes to your mind on first look of it. Cover itself reflects the humor
and sarcasm of which this book is loaded with. Those Monkeys in weird poses
gives funny feel to it. To
be honest, a fantastic cover.
And the Plot, It’s a total Bollywood
thing. People who love movies will be in love with this. I being more of a
Booklover, this book failed interest me very much. Story is quite catchy and
full of puns and humor. This is well balanced even with the characters
throughout the book. Plot revolves around Amar, Akbar, Anthony; college passed
outs with aim to achieve big but are always pulled back by destiny. But that
don’t keep them away from their humorous attitude. It is today’s story you can
relate most of the things going on.
The language is reader friendly and
easily understandable.
First half of the book is intense and wouldn’t let you have breaks in between your reading session, while second half gets a tad dramatic with too much stretching of plot. Climax is unexpected yet quiet engaging. And then there comes epilogue which I felt it best part of the book. It gives proper end to the story.
The flare of book can be easily understood in the introduction which the Book has continued to have lot of puns and liners which you will fall in love with. The way dialogues are sketched, it feels like a movie running across. Author has served a good story loaded with lot of witty conversations and funny situations.
Characters are nicely portrayed though it occurred to me there were many unnecessary characters and that made plot much confusing. There were points where I felt author lost track of plot in between.

Overall it is a nice attempt, a bit too
long (400pages), but you would love the way Jeet Gian has written this book.
